It is common practice to consider colors for the costume elements.
In addition to the interactions of the costume and light colors
previously discussed, psychological associations of color should
be considered. These associations are largely subliminal, but
definitely effective to reinforce aspects of a character's
personality. For example, in most cultures, black represents fear,
death and uncertainty. Black could play a dominant role in the color
scheme of an evil character, hopefully with the effect of enhancing the
character's nastiness. Figure 2.3 lists some
common color associations.
