7.17.4788 Republic Reckoning

Flying out to Rodia on board our Sith transport Onyx Falcon. Some training, meditating, brushing up on the Rodian language, and general time-wasting. Christina continues working on her lightsaber.

We arrive on Rodia. Igashu goes straight to the source, looking for mercenaries who fit our limited description. He canvasses several mercenary headquarters and gets pamphlets and brag-sheets. Tzin goes to the offices of BOSS? to run the tail registration numbers that the Mayor remembered on To'iir's World. Quindo decides to pose as the Sith "Havok" and find out if any Sith vessels docked last month and if there is an active Sith presence on Rodia.

Igashu decides that the clues all lead to a predominantly non-lethal policing group called Balder's Company. They don't have their own hyperspace ships, and would require transport by a medium bulk freighter at minimum. They are based out of Cularin.

GM - "The coffee is strong and a bit nutty. Kind of like the Dark Side."

While getting coffee, Quindo hears about some Rodian opera and passes on the info. Christina invites Igashu out on a date. Quindo gets drugged and arrested on "suspicion of being a Sith". Tzin discovers that the scout ship is registered to the Republic, with a home port on Tanaab?. The information isn't really all that meaningful, it could have been captured by the Sith and still be registered as a Republic ship.

Tzin (a known Jedi) is contacted by the local authorities regarding a "Sith" which they have captured. Tzin shows up and takes Quindo/Havok into custody. Quindo/Havok complains about his legal rights, etc. Quindo/Havok insists that he is either refunded his information retrieval fee (50 credits) or receive the information that he payed for. Tzin offers to retain the info and Quindo/Havok's possessions until such time as he can determine Quindo/Havok's intentions and make sure that he leaves the planet. Good enough for Quindo/Havok. They head back to the Onyx Falcon.

Quindo changes into Jedi garb and shaves, then writes a letter of complaint from "Havok" regarding his treatment on Rodia and the legal ramifications of suspending his civil rights. He also drafts an "official" commendation from the Jedi Order on their conduct regarding capture and detention of a suspected Sith including recommendations for future situations. He forwards the draft to Tzin with comments and a request to type it out, sign it, and mail it. Later, Quindo starts poring over the data on ships passing through a month ago. He narrows the field to a few, none with To'iir's World as destinations, but with headings that could lead there and enough cargo space to carry the mercs. On a hunch, Quindo checks departures against the name Opeli Baylu?. Bingo. Medium bulk freighter heading for Cularin. There was just enough time between when it left Rodia for it to reach Cularin, pick up the mercs, and make it to To'iir's World to kidnap Aenea. One too many coincidences.

Christina wakes up with a headache. She decides that it's part of her atonement and just mopes around all morning, suffering. Evika upbraids her for not drinking water.

Christina - "What happened last night?"
Evika - "You got lit."
Christina - "Lit?"
Evika - "Lit, Smashed, Blitzed, Tanked, Wasted, Drunk... the technical term is intoxicated."

Quindo and Evika go to the Rodian art museum. It's mostly sculpture and martial stuff. Quindo sends a postcard to Jon Septon. Igashu goes back to the mercenary headquarters and presses for more information. Looks like we're going to Cularin.

Igashu heads out to the prairie to investigate Balder's Company. He uses a fake identity and pretends to need security for a planet-wide party. He doesn't get a lot of information, but he gets a name. We'll need to go back for more.

Quindo convinces Evika and Christina to practice lightsabers with him. He offers to take them both at the same to "so they can work on coordinated attack". Wary of bothering the populace, they ask the local police if they have a training facility they can borrow for a bit. The police suggest renting out assault training facilities at the paramilitary compound out on the prairie. Quindo gets a plan.

We invite the local police to take part in training (ostensibly so that they can learn the proper ways to assault a Sith). Only 4 can spare the time, but that's okay. For 1000 credits, we rent the Urban Assault Training Course at Balder's Company headquarters for a day.

7.27.4788 Republic Reckoning

We spend all day on the training course in teams and open melee. We use non-lethal weapons including glop-grenades?, fully automatic paintball guns, and lightsabers. Tzin fakes an early injury and slips into the building to try to remote hack the facility. He gets into the financial records and discovers that the current employer is the Republic. Accounts were paid by the Republic Finance and Accounting Service (RFAS). He tries to get into personnel and planning systems but they are in another building and not connected to the inter-web. Stymied for now, Tzin returns to the training session.

At the end of the day, everyone is exhausted. Quindo suggests a final assault. Everyone vs. Quindo. Quindo tries to hold a building while everyone else attacks. He does a fair job of it, before finally being taken down. (Projected Fighting to take out the cops, Force Light to take out Christina and Evika, Lightsabers versus Tzin and Igashu.)

It was quick, so they run once more with Quindo on the attack. Igashu uses Mira's amulet to sneak a cop up with a glop grenade and takes out Quindo before he really does anything. So, at least we can defeat each other.
