Keldic Uldamanth is a retired Republic Scout Service? Scout. He was one of the team assigned to do the follow-up survey on Aysemius some 30 years ago, and has ever since been involved in making the colonization successful. He has intimate knowledge of the geography of this and several other planets he scouted. Although never receiving a posting to one of the prestigious First Contact teams that are the first to scout a new system, he was heavily involved in the detailed mapping and opening for settlement of over ten worlds. On one of these, he supervised two postdocs, Souvana Monkoltham and Saihaj Virdee, who are now his neighbors and the local Standardization team. When he hit retirement age, he chose to settle on Aysemius in the Village of Canton. He owns vast tracts of land outside town and has plans for hunting, farming, mining, subdevelopments, and casinos. Most of these are in the planning stage at best.

He is friendly, outgoing, and enjoys the company of others. He also is known to disappear for long stretches, wandering and hiking over his land.

Technically, Kurgan and Charlie use his land for grazing, although he only charges a nominal fee of one credit per year. He is friendly with both. He has good relations with Zara and Karthad, but it is "good neighborly" rather than true friendship. Maybe he doesn't approve of their high-tech solutions to life in the backwater.

He is currently a suitor of Nepente Byulzen, the widow who runs the general store.
