Nepente Byulzen was the wife of Xaventilo Byulzen for twenty years. They were the first settlers in the area of the Village of Canton and when he died while fighting a fire in their barn, she sold the farm and began a general store. The town grew up around her new building. Through careful pricing and shrewed investments, she is fairly well off, with a large stake in the chemical plants in the Big City. With the repulsorlift service of Zara and Karthad, her business has suffered somewhat, and she is not on the best of terms with them. She is on somewhat better terms (at least on her end) with Kurgan and Charlie, as both are regular customers for normal items.

She can often be seen every fifthday practicing her aim with the rifle and is an avid hunter. She often goes hunting with Keldic Uldamanth, and there is much talk around the town about the two of them.
