Ildio Vash has always enjoyed the outdoors and living off the land. His homeworld, Corretin?, in the Colonies?, was mostly bought out by agribusiness concerns, largely Greencorp United, a subsidary of Santaros Corporation. He married Tara and they sold their holding for enough to start over again on Aysemius, and settled in the Village of Canton. The couple had a farm on the edge of town, and are good friends with Zara and Karthad. They are perhaps one of the few couples that does not give seem to expect them to be a couple too, although that attitude is finally wearing off. Friendly with Kurgan and Charlie, and Ildio was a regular holochess? player with Keldic Uldamanth.

While one of the survivors of the evacuation of Aysemius, he was one of the prisoners on Bozu-Zok Quintus that did a stint in the mines. It is not something he wants to repeat, although he's not sure if following Tara offworld as a crewmember on the Blood Price is what he has in mind either. After a few weeks, he's gotten very claustrophobic, but the assistance of Zara and Gurjit in putting together some hydroponics for him to garden has taken his mind off the ship and his worries over Tara.
