This page describes a number of modifications for a particular type of
network appliance (the name has been omitted to avoid potential legal
hassles). At one point in time, these particular net appliances could be
purchased for $99 after cancelling service and turned into full-fledged
PCs running Linux, Windows, or any other PC OS. Pictured is a modified
Network Appliance running Windows 98. On the rear of the
unit I've mounted a D-Link DSB-650 USB ethernet adapter. I'm using the
net appliance with an IBM keyboard with a stylus-type pointer embedded in
the keyboard.
