A superior Lightsaber gem. It is exceedingly rare, even in locations such as Illum? and Adegan? systems. Requires a Heroic+20 search check and several adventures to find in such locations, is virutally impossible to locate elsewhere. Gives a 6D character or 6D+2 speeder base damage for the lightsaber.

Pontite is a difficult gem to cut properly for use in a lightsaber. A Very Difficult gemcutting or Heroic lightsaber repair check is required. A botch that causes the roll to miss by more than half will destroy the gem. Once cut, the crystal has an activation energy of 500kJ.
