The Officer of Justice is the chief enforcer of the laws of the Galactic Republic. This position was separated from the office of the Chancellor? by the Jedi Council when they assumed power from the Senate?. The Officer of Justice works with the Council to develop legal policy and acts as the representative of the Republic in legal matters. The Officer is the chief advisor to the Head of the Council on legal affairs. The focus of this Office has so far been to weed out outdated laws and streamline the legal code into a more comprehensible document.
