The basic Lightsaber crystal. Gives a base damage rating of 5D character or 6D speeder, depending on the lightsaber rules you are using. Requires a Very Difficult search check and likely an adventure or two to find in a likely location, +5 or more to the search check in less likely spots.

Mephite is a difficult cut, however, requiring a Difficult gemcutting or Very Difficult lightsaber repair check. A botch that causes the roll to fail by more than half will destroy the gem. Once cut, a Mephite crystal requires 300kJ to activate.
