Gives a base 3D+2 character or 4D speeder damage depending on the rules set. Not many people bother with these crystals as they look bad, don't work too well, and you can usually find something better with a little luck.

Kathracite, when cut properly (Moderate gemcutting or Difficult lightsaber repair, and a botch causing the roll to fail by more than half will destroy the gem.), requires 100kJ of energy to activate into a blade.
