Gerth is an agricultural world along the Perelmian trade route, in the Mid Rim between the Hapan Cluster and the Tion Hegemony. In late 4787, tensions between the planetary government and some of the larger shipping concerns threatened to cut off much of the trade to outlying sectors along the route, including Tion, who requested the Jedi Council send a mediator. The Council obliged, and dispatched Master Karth Triest to Gerth to meet with the opposing parties. During negotiations, Davrosh's forces struck in one of the opening sallies of the Sith War. Triest was killed, and the world quickly fell to the Sith, granting Bellisarius's forces a significant foothold along the Perlemian trade route. Gerth is still under Sith control.
