Republic Reckoning 5.32.87

We land on Byzantine. There are Sith security droids everywhere. We go to the bar and notice that everyone is paying in GOLD. Today's drink of choice is the "Tatooine Sunrise" which, I think, is faintly radioactive. A sketchy looking trader tries to pick up Chris but she has another mark in mind. We're trawling for information, so Chris wanders off with an important looking trader. She's acting really drunk but we assume that she's just acting. "She's a Jedi, she can take care of herself!" In actuality, she's badly impaired and about to get into massive trouble.

There is a lot of gold floating around, the Sith pay well and the traders don't question as long as the money is good. They're really good at P.R. Kinda like Republicans. Arvandus runs up a very large bar tab while trying to get information, and we don't have the money to pay it. Arvandus convinces Quindo to play Sabbac and cheat to win. Quindo doesn't like it at all, but there's not much choice at the moment and Arvandus *is* supposed to be in charge. So, Quindo cheats like a bitch with the Force and manages to earn about 3300 credits in gold.

Meanwhile, Chris is waking up on someone's ship in silk bedsheets. She passed out. It seems that she's in the Captain's cabin. Captain Daye comes in and introduces himself. He slept in the captain's chair on the bridge. How nice. He hands her back her lightsaber and asks her some questions. He admits that he became suspicious because we came in on the "Annuma". He knows that captain (Chee' waran) and wants to know where he is and what happened to him. Chris honestly doesn't know, but does reveal that we are Jedi (he already knew... lightsaber and all).

Chris - "I want to avoid using Affect Mind"
Us - "Oh, come on. Once you've got a hammer, all problems look like nails. And you've got a Mind Hammer. Think of the squishy brain-nails!"

Chris makes her excuses and leaves in a hurry. Cpt. Daye says that she can stay if she chooses, but she declines. As she steps outside, she finds several Battle Droids waiting for her with a couple Nikto in command. The Nikto yell something that she can't understand and she tries to duck back into the ship. Daye is there with a gun. "You're going to make me a lot of money!". Chris tries to activate her lightsaber and it won't work. Daye pulls her power-pack out of his pants and asks "I'm sorry, did you need this?"

Chris tries to use Affect Mind to get Daye to help her and fails. She's captured. In a last ditch effort, she tries to use Affect Mind to prevent the Nikto from taking her lightsaber. Also fails. She manages a quick mental contact with Quindo to ask for help.

We're back at the ship by now, starting to get worried. Arvandus farsees for Chris and finds that they're taking her out of the spaceport. He sets the ship on overload and we head toward Daye's ship. We question him thoroughly and then get away quickly. Arvandus tries to convince Daye and his intire crew that we were never there with Affect Mind. Apparently he fails, because they sound an alarm after we leave.

Chris is taken to the Palace and thrown in a cell with force Negation Bars. Alynn shows up and wants to know why we were sent, by whom, and what our mission is. Chris claims that came on our own without Council sanction. Alynn doens't belive her and tells her that "One way or another, you will tell us what we want to know."

Dun dun duuuuuun.
