1.32.4787 Republic Reckoning

The group arrives on Manassan and begins their search for clues about Dormamu's whereabouts. A lucky break lands them with the name Deke Slanton, the pilot of Dormamu's ship we suspect to still be on the planet. Some further digging is rewarded with an address, so off we go to pay Deke a visit. Igashu bluffs his way into the building and the group follows along up to Deke's room.

Igashu gives Deke the third degree and gets nowhere... it seems one can't be both Good Cop and Bad Cop at the same time. Eventually Deke is convinced to tag along when the go visit the ship. If they can find the ship that is. Since Deke isn't volunteering the group is back to square one.

Some careful snooping leads them to the discovery that the last record of that ship is that it landed at a private airfield owned by Dranson Corp. So, with Deke in tow everybody tears off to the airfield hoping to find a clue on the ship. However, we seem to pick up a tail on the way there. Being proactive about things we fake some engine trouble, pull over, and use the force to disable the vehicle following us. It is certainly some suspicious characters who aren't being honest with us, but we have no proof. So we leave them stranded on the side of the road and call the police. Our helpful friend Dirk Gently offers to check them out as we head off to the airfield.

Arriving at the airfield Quindo and Dabai decide to scout the perimeter for some unknown reason. Igashu again bluffs their way past security and we're in! Some paperwork needs to be filled out before we can checkout the ship though. While Deke and Igashu work on the papers Quindo and Dabai are attacked by one of the men we saw earlier (the car trouble gang). After a brief scuffle is ended by Dabai cracking a few of their attacker's ribs with a well placed kick. Good thing too, as it seems Quindo has stopped carrying his lightsaber for the time being. Some crazy mumbo jumbo about being too willing to use it.

As they rush to warn the rest of us, the bad guy's partner bursts into the office and opens fire with a chain gun. Elbram dodges out of the way, and Igashu dodges while heroically pushing the oblivious Brojen out of the way. Brojen takes a minor bump on the head when he tumbles and Elbram manages to disable the gun. "Shades" as we called the attacker drops the gun and takes off running. Igashu gives chase, and uses a bit of Telekinesis to trip the Shades so he can't get away. Just as that happens... BOOM! the gun Shades left behind explodes. Elbram and Brojen, who managed to duck behind some cover, drag the injured out of the building and begin tending to their wounds while Igashu questions Shades.

Security, Quindo, and Dabai all arrive about the same time and a good bit of yelling is needed to explain everything that is going on. In the end we're allowed to see the ship, and it's monster of a security system. Seems it will take some time to slice through the locks, but the cops are willing to loan us their experts for the job. How kind of them!
