Rage

Control Difficulty: Difficult

Required Powers: Hibernation trance

Warning: Any character using this power recieves a Dark Side Point.

Effect: This power allows a character to feel the influence and power of the Dark Side. It functions as a counterpart to emptiness.

The character must tense herself completely, and allow the mindless rage of the Dark Side to posess her. When using this power, a character will appear lifeless. The Force-user is amplifying the negative aspects of their personality, leaving their face clenched in a rictus of horror and fear.

A character must determine how long to remain in rage when entering the trance. Barring an attack or the arrival of a specifc person (as explained below), the Jedi stays in the trance for the chosen duration. A Difficult control check is required every four hours in the trance or the character suddenly awakens.

When leaving this state, the user recieves a modifier to all Force skill rolls of +10 for a period equal to the time equal to that spent in the trance. After the bonus is over, the character takes one die of damage for every two hours or part thereof they were in the trance. While in rage, the character is oblivious to their surroundings, but strongly exude the Dark Side. This acts as a sort of protection, adding the control roll to the difficulty of all Force powers used on the target while in rage. Characters dehydrate twice as fast as normal with this power up and are extra susceptible to damage, suffering a -1D penalty to Constitution to resist non-mental attacks. Intravenous nourishment can sustain a character indefinitely.

To get out of rage a character must either have physical contact by another living being, which may provoke an instant berserker-like attack, regardless of who the person is. The chracter awaking from emptiness must make a Difficult control check to cease attacking the offender before they are killed. Alternately, a character may anticipate being awoken by a specific foe by making a Difficult check with life sense at the time the trance is entered. Upon the arrival of the person to within five meters of the character, they may awake with an Easy control check.

Finally, this may be used as a preparation for a transfer life power use. When used in this manner, upon vacating the original body, it is consumed by the Dark Side, bursing into blue flames causing 1D damage for every three points the control check exceeded the difficulty, decreasing by 1D every three meters from the body.
