The Officer of Peace on the Jedi Council has taken over the position formerly held by the Secretariat of War? in the Executive Cabinet? of the Galactic Republic. They are responsible for advising the Head of the Council on defense matters, directing the civilian control of the military of the Republic and developing defense policy for the Council. Tercez Rul'yka? is presently the Officer of Peace.
