Capital Ship Combat Sequence

1.3.1: Capital Ship Combat Sequence

Much the same as the normal combat sequence, it makes more use of the skill tactics and has two extra phases, record keeping and tactical.

1. Initiative

All captains roll tactics: Capital Ships. The captain with the highest roll decides where to go in the declaration/action sequence, followed by the next highest and so on.

2. Declare Actions

In the order decided before, captains declare their ship's actions and any of the officers declare their actions here as well. All full evasions must be declared here, although combat evasions may be declared when needed later at the normal penalties.

3. Tactical

Captains wishing to spend an action to roll tactics: Capital Ships to redeclare their actions or adjust their order in the turn sequence (see Tactics section below) do so here.

4. Roll actions, reactions, and effects

Starting with the vessel that declared first, roll actions. If a ship that declared an evasion is fired upon, roll evasion immediately and apply results. Ships can also declare combat evasions if their captain, first officer, or pilot has a remaining action. Calculate damage as it hits and apply the effects immediately.

5. Record Keeping

Any remaining bookkeeping is taken care of now, and all damage control rolls for ships are made now. Effects of these rolls apply immediately.
