9.32.4786 Republic Reckoning
For those readers who were so dramatically cut off in our last excerpt from the Jedi Misfits. The cocroach did perish in the flaming reckage of the once fighter plane. Mark one DFU on the board for our hero Davin Brightblade! Tragically Davin did not manage to eject from the plane in time, and suffered the same fate as the dastardly Dalmotz.
As the group begins to function again after the realization of their loss, and the first order of business is to find out what Vraile and Dabai know. Both are interrogated separately, and it has been decided that they will both be prisoners for the near future at least. J'ror seems a bit miffed that the group has taken away his authority, and moves to interrogate Dabai. Igashu, Bro'jen, and Elbram run the interrogation of Vraile.
Dabai's knowledge seems to focus mostly around training, and tactics... disturbingly those tactics seemed design specifically to counter and kill Jedi. Vraile's interrogation as Elbram leads it devolves into political debate, and Vraile reveals that while she is well intentioned she remains blind to the greater dangers of working with the Sith. Frustrated the group leaves, and J'ror is wondering what facts they gained. A frustrated Igashu returns with a notepad and asks a number of straight forward questions designed to get some simple facts. The third system, that they have not yet investigated is nominally labeled as H.Q. She is in charge of survey, just like she was before. Mostly seems to be mineral and resource surveys. She knows nothing about the ships, or any droid armies. A last off color comment about Davin, anger's Igashu. With a warning to Vraile he leaves the room handing J'ror his notes. A quick "If tshe says anything else about Davin I'll hit her." earns him a prohibition from further questioning of Vraile.
Davin's remains are returned by Dormamu as promised. Along with his personal effects... a partially slagged amulet was clutched in Davin's hand. To'iir says it was a gift from Aylen. Dormamu asks if a missing member of his team has turned up. Igashu assures that a Dabai would be as unwelcome here as he would be to return. As Dormamu kept his word, the group decides to keep theirs, and begins preparations to leave the planet a.s.a.p.
The first meal since Davin's death... a dinner is prepared by Igashu. Waffles are made to commemorate his passing. In an unexpected turn of events, the waffles are actually good! Dabai took the opportunity to further ingratiate himself with the group and complained about waffles in general, and especially for dinner.
At the end of the day J'ror informs Dabai that he has little authority anymore, but with all that he is at least confident that Dabai in on the right side. Dabai of course, in typical lack of social graces, replies with a request to speak with Elbram. Needless to say a further frustrated J'ror leaves the room, and Elbram enters. Dabai is interested in learning the History of the Jedi, and Elbram gladly obliges with an impromptu first lesson. Dabai's responses during the lectures seems to indicate that he has/had close ties with the Ton-hrun kingdom.
9.34.86 Republic Reckoning
Having jumped outside of Santaros controlled space, the group contacts a Republic fleet to see if their messages had been recieved. Admiral Coruvasier requests a meeting to discuss the findings. After giving out as much information as they can about the Santaros Fleet, the Admiral decides to take his fleet into P3X259 and requests the Jedi to accompany them.
9.35.86 Republic Reckoning
Initially the ships appear to be missing, and as the fleet cautiously moves forward the trap they suspected is sprung. The Fleet is divided, and two separate, quick and bloody battles take place. Some 4,000 Republic lives are lost, and it is assumed that somewhere between 2,000 and 8,000 of the Santaros are dead. An exact count is difficult because the ships are of a new and unknown configuration, and presumably run with skeleton crews.
During the various short hops, Igashu has been working tirelessly on his new lightsaber. And finally has it completed! An impromptu sparring session with To'iir ensues.
10.2.86 Republic Reckoning
After Dabai provided as much information as he could to the Admiral about tactics and encampments on THX1138 the fleet headed there to secure the planet, and the students headed to H.Q. Their arrival is less than successful as they get shot down on approach, and both Vraile and Mira are inured.
