Dense nebula at the edge of the galaxy. It is very poorly charted, and the journey through the rift takes quite a while. The Misfits made the trip in ~21 days (seven 3-day hops). The Rift has some connection to the Force and using powers over long distances (stellar or greater) becomes increasingly prohibitive in proximity to it and difficult within.

On the other side of the rift, the light of the rest of the galaxy is blocked out... in a dim cockpit, perhaps 20 'stars' are visible (some of these are, in fact, galaxies). Truly a sobering sight.
