Force Push

From The Moon Swing Chronicles by Ian Hoolihan.

Alter Difficulty:Moderate

Required Powers: Telekinesis.

Effect:This power is used to push or throw one or a number of targets across a room to cause damage, similar to the effect that Obi-Wan gave in Episode 1 where he forced the 3 Battle Droids across the hallway aboard the Trade Federation Control Ship.

The difficulty of this power is different to that of Telekinesis power. As the user of the power is only moving the target a short distance, and the body of its use is to cause damage, the difficulty is therefore less as it is not a controlled attack. The only objects that can be affected in this way are objects no greater than speeder scale, and those no greater than 10 meters away. The use of the power will affect up to 4 targets as long as they are standing adjacent (i.e. they are standing side by side with no more than 1 meter between each one). The result is that the targets are flung across the room for a distance of 2 meters.

The damage sustained by the target is half the user's alter roll rounding down, but may be no greater than 6D. In any of the above cases where the target fails, the effect is that the character is thrown to the ground, and may not take any actions for the rest of the round except performing reaction skill usages. Only a Difficult Dexterity roll or a Moderate acrobatics roll will allow the character to act normally. If the character is affected by the attack, he will start the next round prone.

The power can also be used to repel this type of attack. The target simply rolls his alter as a reactionary skill, using the difficulty of the initial user as the base. If the roll beats the initial roll, the power usage is negated.

As with Telekinesis, a target may always attempt to resist the effects of the power. To resist, the target character rolls his Control, or Willpower to resist the effects of the power. If the user is able to resist, use either the opposed roll or the difficulty whichever is greater. If the power is used to attack a character and possibly even if it kills accidentally, the character may recieve a Dark Side Point or Dark Side Mark as determined by the GM.
