Blindness

You cannot see at all. Other senses may be more acute to compensate; you may buy Acute Hearing and/or Acute Taste and Smell at half cost. Furthermore, you suffer no additional penalties due to poor visibility. In unfamiliar territory you must travel slowly and carefully or be led by a companion or guide animal. Many skills and actions are simply impossible, the final ruling is left up to the GM.

A blind character is -3D on any combat skill. Hand weapons can be used, but cannot be directed to a specific body part. Ranged weapons may not be used, except randomly or at extremely close range. This is assuming that the character is accustomed to the blindness. If sight is suddenly removed, all actions are at -5D.

As an option, the GM may require a blind character to play using a blindfold to give some appreciation of the problems facing the blind and of the many things that may be accomplished without sight.

There are several ways around this for most characters, either through the Force or through cybernetics. There are limitations to both, and rules will be covered with the appropriate powers or gear.
