Background

Xandessa is a former assassin with many and varied skills. She was a born a blacksmith's daughter. A sordid series of events led to her incarceration and imprisonment on Xartalca. There she was given Hobson's choice and conscripted with several others to save the King's bride. After many years separated from society, Xandessa was unable to really deal with the people around her. She was frequently overcome with rage, and mercilessly destroyed those that defied her. During several long sea voyages, she cloistered herself away from others and focused inward, learning the meditative arts which helped her control and focus her fierce temper.
She and her companions saved the princess and returned her to her kin in Angland. While there, Xandessa and Sedgewick came to an understanding, and assaulted one of the Witch hunter bases. The initial assault failed, but it got their other companions involved. A two pronged assault took out the Keep of Lord Shade and freed several of the captives of the Witch hunters. As a downstream result, the Witch hunters fell from favor in Angland.
Under instructions from the Construct Adam, Xandessa and her companions sought out the Prophet on the Table, and sailed to Caryadis. On route to Caryadis, Xandessa gained 3 favors from Sedgewick. In the desert, Xandessa further honed her skills with both meditation and sword, communing with Adam and killing zombies. The Croata gave her the title Shieldbearer. They encountered the Prophet, and learned the fate of the Gods and Godesses. Xandessa swore herself to Urlaneth.
Since escaping the desert, Xandessa has taken to equating Urlaneth with the mother. She came up with the idea of a militant wing of the Church of the Mother, only to find one being formed by the Lady Grace, whom Xandessa is now quite fond of.
Xandessa squared off against the King's Guard on the bridge during the Battle of the Bridge.
