Why Priming?

Primer is a special paint that has a ???? that allows paint to adhere to your painting surface better.

Other Things Priming Helps?

When a miniature is primed, the miniature becomes a nice even flat color. You can use this double check your prepping for mold lines, feeds, miscasts, ect.

What Color Should I Use?

There are several schools of thought on what Color you should use as your primer. In minipainter circles, these schools of thought are jokingly referred to Churches

White Primer PROS: Makes light colors brighter, more vibrant. CONS: Makes mistakes and missed spots HIGHLY VISIBLE.

Black Primer PROS: Provides instant Black Shading. Hides mistakes and missed spots. CONS: Difficult to spot prep mistakes. Difficult to find details. Lighter colors have a darker hue to them.

Grey Primer PROS: CONS:

Base Color as Primer PROS: You have your base coat and can start painting immediately. CONS: Base Color may cause interference with other colors on miniature.

Dark Shading Base Color as Primer PROS: CONS: Base Color may cause interference with other colors on miniature.
