about

I am a software developer and singer/songwriter. I grew up part of a farming family in Western Massachusetts towns with crazy names like "Belchertown", and "Ware." After high school, college and job opportunities drew me closer and closer to Boston. I am now based in Arlington, Massachusetts writing software and songs.

the path to today

Maps are pretty cool and, thanks to OpenStreetMap, easily embedded on any to website. Here's a map marking where I have lived over the years.

software

My professional career has focused on building, optimizing, and extending complex systems in a startup environment. I have worked on algorithm design, compiler design and optimization, and natural language search development and integration. See my resume for details.

I built a.placebetween.us, a map-based meeting tool, and it got quite a bit of attention.

music

My modern folk music has been compared to Peter Mulvey, Michael Kroll, and Jabbering Trout. Recent demos and a live recording from a WJUL radio appearance are available.

There are no scheduled performances. Please if you would like to see me perform. Most recently, I opened for Jon Svetkey at the WPI Coffeehouse. I have also appeared at area open-mics, performed on-air at WJUL, and even tried busking in Harvard Square.

From 1992 to 1996, I was guitarist, singer, and songwriter for Jaded, a Worcester, MA based folk group. Jaded performed at Eleni's Midnite Cafe (RIP), the Java Hut, and WPI in Worcester, MA; the Moonstruck Cafe in Charlton, MA; and countless area open-mic appearances.

Jaded released over four albums of studio material and live recordings. Over time, many of these old Jaded recordings may re-appear. The last time we dug our cassettes out of the dusty old box, they didn't sound so great. We'll keep claiming that it's the fault of badly-aging media.
