Erebus
Psyche: Red (King)
Strength: Blue
Endurance: Green
Warfare: Green
Body Points: 3
Mind Points: 3
For the moment, we’ll ignore any powers or items that Erebus may have and just focus on how he uses his Attributes.
At the start of the game, Erebus gets dealt one card for each of his Attributes. These cards are color-coded the same as his Attribute and have a Rating number on them (from 1 to 9). Erebus gets the Red King card for his Psyche automatically. The other cards are:
Strength: Blue-7
Endurance: Green-3
Warfare: Green-5
OK, so now Erebus is all set. He’s the best in Psyche, among the best of the worst in Strength, a bit below average in Endurance, and perfectly average in Warfare. Other players don’t know what Erebus’s Ratings are, but his nametag does show his four color bands so they do know it’s better to try and arm wrestle him rather than mentally dominate him.
So someone decides to try arm-wrestling Erebus. That someone is Becky, daughter of Fiona. Although no great weight-lifter herself, Becky is pretty confident that she can beat Erebus in arm wrestling, even though she too is only Blue Level. So Becky challenges Erebus to an arm-wrestling match. Erebus (confident, that Becky won’t try and snap his wrist or do real damage to him) agrees to the contest.
A classic challenge of Strength. Erebus and Becky whip out their Strength cards (clubs) and compare their Ratings. Erebus has a Blue-7 and Becky has a Blue-5. Becky loses. Since this is just an arm wrestling bout and not a full-fledged combat, Erebus forgoes the 1 Hit Point Damage in favor of saying he won the arm wrestling match. Erebus and Becky trade cards. Erebus is now at Blue-5 for Strength and Becky is at Blue-7. So Erebus has won the match, but gone down a bit in Strength for the next contest.
The mention of arm wrestling draws Harold over. Harold is Gerard’s son and it’s easy to see why. Harold offers to arm wrestle Erebus as well. Erebus doesn’t even bother. Harold’s nametag shows that his Strength is Red Level (and, so Erebus has heard, Red King). Erebus wouldn’t have a chance and tells Harold as much. Grumbling about the “lack of challenge around here”, Harold stalks off.
Erebus is about to leave, when Becky comes back. She’s asking for another round. Erebus figures he’ll lose this match (to the Blue-7 he gave her last round) and boost his Strength a bit so he agrees. They compare Strength Cards. Erebus has the Blue-5, but Becky (who’s been doing a lot of arm wrestling tonight) has a Blue-5 as well. It’s a tie. Both players put their Strength Cards back in their hands (they don’t exchange Strength Cards) and pull out their Endurance Cards (spades). Both of them are Green Level so they compare Ratings. Erebus is Green-3 and Becky is Green-1. Erebus wins the match and they exchange Endurance Cards. Erebus is a bit miffed that Becky has really smacked down his Endurance, but at least her plan to boost her own Endurance didn’t work too well.
