Blending elements from folk, modern rock, punk, and new wave, jaded's combination of blistering acoustic guitar and electronic drums presents a refreshing addition to the growing indie-folk community. Formed in 1992, the Massachusetts natives have paid their dues at countless open mics, small clubs and cafes and have opened for well known area performer Jon Svetkey and the now nationally known Guster. Four self-produced albums attest to a variety of musical influences. What Happens Behind Closed Doors (1993) is a very simple first effort, containing only acoustic guitar, bass, and vocal tracks. Evil (1994) and Breathe (1996 & 1998) broadened their studio sound, adding percussion, electric guitars, and synthesizers. Most recently, jaded have completed production of a split album, titled Sister in the Corner, containing both live tracks and remixes from previous releases. They plan to start work on their fourth studio effort during the summer of 1998. Live, jaded is Aron Atkins on vocals and acoustic guitar and Jason
Macierowski on electronic drums. Performing together for more than
six years, the group has built up, reworked, and strengthened its catalog
of songs. They recently switched to the current acoustic guitar and
electronic drums format from a guitar/bass duo. The result is a new band
enthusiasm with the polished luster of a seasoned act.
