...Also in that European vein, T.O.'s An April March have taken the style in a new direction. Their latest album, Impatiens (Cartwheel), had me thinking of another band with similar tastes. Vancouver's Perfume Tree. The combination of the lush sweepingly full arrangements and Danella Hocevar's deep-in-the-mix vocals, envelops, tantalises and catches on like a summer sea breeze. This music is very stylish, but then as they demonstrate on the final two live closing cuts, "This Ivory" and "Stains", An April March can also sound huge and powerful.
