An April March is (with the departure of their former bass player) a three-piece band from Toronto. Historical info on the band, unfortunately, is not always easy to come by in Massachusetts -- so our AAM pages have been a bit sparse, and updates have been erratic at times. (But we're working on improving that...)
We can hear you asking the obvious question: Why are Worcester/Boston people plugging a Toronto-local band? Our first exposure to AAM came when they released "The Last of Ariadne" as a split single with The Curtain Society's "No Answer" in 1993. In 1994, a while after a copy of their self-produced Cartwheel album, Impatiens, had been thoroughly listened to by yours truly, TCS and AAM embarked on "The Tape Dispenser Tour" (I still haven't forgiven TCS' lead singer for not making those T-Shirts) -- a series of shows in Boston, Providence, Worcester, Toronto, and Ann Arbor. One or both of us were in attendance for each of the New England shows and the second Toronto gig... and we were impressed. (I, personally, was absolutely floored. --truss) Shortly after that, the band signed to Bedazzled Records. This is a band that should be going places... places far beyond the borders of Ontario.
UPDATE: 4/17/99 - Sadly, after 10 years of making records and playing gigs, An April March have decided to call it quits. Their final US show was held on April 16, 1999 at the Lucky Dog Music Hall in Worcester, MA, where they got to share the billing one last time with The Curtain Society. They said they will play one more show in Toronto on the 29th of April, and then that's all. The members of An April March won't be falling off the face of the earth, though...we've heard that Danella will be starting her own band, which Chris may play in. We wish all the members of An April March the best of luck. We will miss you!!
